Just a few months ago the Arabunna people of South Australia were successful in receiving Native Title for Lake Eyre, and in returning to the traditional name Kati Thanda as the official name for Lake Eyre.
Photographer Peter Elfes has spent the last fives year documenting the flooding of Lake Eyre, a rare natural event, as you are aware. His stunning photographs have been on display at Sydney’s Customs House last year – with huge success.
They will appear next in Upwey, to the east of Melbourne in the Burrinja exhibition: Kati Thanda, aerial photography of Lake Eyre by Peter Elfes.
