“MAPgroup photographer Morganna Magee’s exhibition, “I thought it would be perfect- Katie’s story” opens at Sydney’s Head On Photo Festival, Saturday 3rd May, 4-6pm and runs until 22nd May. A very strong and moving collection of work.”

“I had always thought it would be perfect. After Jaylen’s Dad asked me to have his child, I really thought we would be a happy little family for the rest of our lives. I never pictured being a single mother. While I was pregnant doctors discovered Jaylen’s illness and I was told they could have it fixed within 6 weeks of his birth and after that life would go on. Even then, I really thought I would be able to live a normal life with my son with me, but as it turns out nothing is perfect.”

Morganna your Katie story is an inspiration to all photographers.
It says so well: “that’s what the medium is for”.
My compliments, and admiration for the excellence of the execution.

I hope that the public distribution of the pictures will do something to help Katie.
