“Sanctuary” exhibition, Ponch Hawkes

MAPgroup photographer Ponch Hawkes is showing work in Sanctuary, a group exhibition which explores the notion of the garden as a sanctuary or site for reflection, contemplation and healing in contemporary culture. Ponch was specially commissioned to create a new series of photographs of local residents’ gardens by Glen Eira City Council which will be featured in the exhibition, together with works by Natasha Bieniek, Jane Burton, Kevin Chin, Siri Hayes, Christopher Koller and Janet Laurence. Everyone is welcome to come to the opening. Ponch will also present a floor talk on her work.

Opening: 3 March, 6.30pm
Floor talk: 9 March, 12 pm
4 March – 10 April
